STUDENT RESPECT FOR PROPERTY
As we respect our peers, teachers, and those close to us, we must always be mindful to respect the property we are given to be successful in our life goals and aspirations. As a Murphey Maverick, it is important that property such as laptops, supplies, and physical equipment are treated with respect, and nothing is taken for granted. I will outline your responsibility as a Maverick in Seawells classroom 151. Again, those who decide to challenge the “Code of Conduct” maliciously will be dealt with accordingly.
LAPTOP AND SCHOOL EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT/TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT
Since you play a big part in the success of you and your school, the school will assign you a laptop for your use and school-related work only. It is your responsibility as a Murphey Maverick to respect this equipment. This means that you ensure that your device is charged the night before so that you may be ready to learn. Periodically, work will be done on the computer. It is your responsibility to only work on school-related products only. Any programs that are not school-related must be approved by me. These laptops are the property of Richmond County School Systems and are NOT your personal computer. NO social media including non-approve screen savers are to be put on these computers. This is to provide a safe electronic environment for ALL students. IF for any reason the computer must be taken home or is assigned to you, please let your teacher know if you do not have WIFI at your house. Assignments submitted through Canvas and other educational platforms might require internet access. For those students who speak another language and require translation software, please let me know so that I can ensure that you are getting most out of your educational experience. The “Code of Conduct” addresses any questions regarding proper equipment uses. Any student who does not follow these guidelines can lead to an investigation including suspension and possible disciplinary proceedings.
DESK/CHAIR RESPECT AND DAILY ROUTINE
Graciously, Richmond County School Systems provides a desk and a chair for you to sit at each day. However, it comes with responsibility. You are required as a student to sit in your chair correctly and not deface the desk. At all times, backpacks are to be on the back of your seats. On your desk, the only thing you are required are to have a writing utensil, and your Science Book. There is no need to have anything else on your desk of personal nature. Again, this is an educational facility. With over 100 students, that other students will use desk then just you. If you are in my homeroom, breakfast is eaten in the classroom. All food is to be consumed by the dedicated time and the desk is to be clean off trash and debris after finishing breakfast.
