• Grade Recovery Policy

The Grade Recovery Policy is designed to provide students with an opportunity to improve failing grades (below 70) by demonstrating mastery of essential course standards through targeted interventions and reassessments.

    Eligibility:

    • Students who score below a 70 on major assignments, quizzes, or tests.

    • The assignment or assessment must be eligible for recovery as determined by the teacher.

    • Students must have completed the original assignment/assessment with a genuine effort.

    • Students must attend mandatory tutoring, remediation sessions, or complete intervention activities before being allowed to recover the grade.

    Recovery Process:

    1. Student Responsibility:

      • The student must request grade recovery within 5 school days of receiving the original grade.

    2. Teacher-Assigned Intervention:

      • The student will complete assigned remediation activities (reteach, practice, corrections, etc.).

    3. Reassessment Opportunity:

      • After remediation, students may retake a similar or alternative assignment/assessment.

    4. Recovered Grade:

      • The recovered grade will replace the original grade up to a maximum of 70.

    Limitations:

    • Only one grade recovery opportunity per assignment/assessment.

    • Grade recovery deadlines must be met; late submissions will not be accepted.

    • Not all assignments may be eligible for recovery (e.g. group projects).

    Teacher Discretion:

The teacher reserves the right to adjust grade recovery procedures on a case-by-case basis, considering student effort, extenuating circumstances, and overall academic integrity.
