  • 📌 Student Expectations for Participation (Speaking & Writing)

    To support your growth in English and academic success, you are expected to actively participate in class using the following skills aligned with WIDA Can Do Descriptors:

    Speaking

    • Share your ideas clearly using academic vocabulary and complete sentences.
    • Ask and answer questions during group discussions and class activities.
    • Present information using appropriate tone, word choice, and organization.
    • Engage in discussions by:
      • Expressing opinions with supporting reasons.
      • Responding respectfully to others’ ideas.
      • Using visuals or multimedia when appropriate.

    Writing

    • Write using clear organization (beginning, middle, end) and linking words.
    • Use content-specific vocabulary to explain or describe topics.
    • Support your ideas with examples, facts, or evidence.
    • Revise your writing to improve clarity, coherence, and accuracy.

    Participation Will Be Graded Based On:
