Since stepping into the role of head baseball coach at Westside High School, Coach Darius Washington has brought energy, vision, and a deep commitment to the values that define the Patriot spirit. A proud educator and mentor, Coach Washington has quickly made his mark—both in the classroom and on the diamond.

A graduate of Silver Bluff High School, Coach Washington earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2018. He went on to complete two Master’s degrees—one in Secondary Education and another in Administration and Supervision—demonstrating the same drive for excellence that he instills in his players 

On the Field: A Rising Legacy

Under Coach Washington’s leadership, the Westside Patriots Baseball Team achieved back-to-back playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024, signaling a strong resurgence for the program. His coaching style emphasizes discipline, accountability, and a team-first mentality—perfectly aligned with Westside’s core values of WAR: Wholehearted, Accountable, Respectful.

Coach Washington’s ability to connect with student-athletes, push them to reach their potential, and build a culture of unity has earned him the respect of players, parents, and the broader school community.

In the Classroom and Beyond

In addition to coaching, Coach Washington serves as a math teacher at Westside, where he continues to inspire students with his passion for learning and leadership. His dual role as educator and coach allows him to mentor students holistically—helping them grow academically, athletically, and personally.

Coach Stacy Green has been a vital part of the Westside High School baseball program for the past three years. Serving as both the Associate Head Coach for the varsity team and the Head Coach for the junior varsity squad, Coach Green brings energy, discipline, and a passion for player development to the diamond.

Specializing as the Outfield Coach, Coach Green focuses on fundamentals, positioning, and situational awareness, helping outfielders grow into smart, reliable defenders. His leadership has played a key role in building a strong foundation for younger players and elevating the competitive spirit throughout the program.
