• Ms. Toccara

Welcome to your first-year student year of high school—and to 9th Grade English Language Arts! I am so excited to begin this new chapter with you as we explore the power of language, literature, and self-expression together.
This year marks a big transition, and I want you to know that you are not alone. In our ELA classroom, we will build a community where every voice matters, every story is valued, and every student is supported. From classic literature to contemporary texts, from analytical essays to creative writing, we’ll dive into reading and writing in ways that challenge your thinking and spark your imagination.
My goal is to help each of you grow not only as readers and writers, but also as confident communicators and critical thinkers. I believe in your potential and am committed to helping you succeed—academically and personally.
To our families: thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Your partnership is essential, and I look forward to working together to make this a meaningful and memorable year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or just to say hello.
Let’s make this year one of growth, discovery, and connection. I can’t wait to get started!

    Warm regards,
    Ms. Toccara Beard
