Mrs. Jessica A. Igo
Education and Training:
Mrs. Igo holds a Bachelor's in Music Education with an emphasis on orchestral strings from Columbus State University and also has her Master’s Degree from Georgia State University in Music Performance (violin). Mrs. Igo also completed Orff Level 1 training in the Summer of 2024 and is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and American String Teachers Association.
Professional Experience:
Mrs. Igo began her teaching career in Cobb County, GA in an elementary school that was a Berstein School of Arts that had a school-wide string program. She has also taught at Music Academies in Birmingham, AL and also at the George Mason Community Arts program in Fairfax, Virginia. After moving to the CSRA, Mrs. Igo has kept an active private studio with semester performances and community engagements. Mrs. Igo has also performed with the Aiken Civic Orchestra, Columbia County Orchestra, and the Augusta Symphony.
Music Education Philosophy:
Mrs. Igo believes that every student should have the opportunity to experience string instruments. Mrs. Igo also likes to get to know her students and make learning meaningful and engaging. While learning music is fun, it also helps develop collaborative skills though ensemble playing and discipline through practicing.
