Welcome 7th and 8th grade students and families!
My name is Tammyria Jennings, and I am honored to serve as your grade level school counselor, as you usher into the 2024-2025 year. My passion for school counseling began during my time as a student at Augusta University, where I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in istory with a minor in Psychology, and then at Troy University, where I earned my Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have over 10 years of experience working with both youth and their parents.
As a school counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom counseling lessons including the second step curriculum, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all students.
As our world changes around us, let us find overwhelming joy as we gather this 2024-2025 school year. I truly wish that, despite changes outside our control, we could offer each other some grace, mercy and understanding. We truly are "all in this together".Students, look for me in your classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and all round BMS this year and of course, my office (located across from the main office) door is always open to say hey, grab a snack, chill out or talk about what’s on your mind and in your heart. Students can make an appointment with me via scanning QR code located on grade level hallways, stopping by the guidance office and filling out a student request form, or by letting your teacher know to send me a request.
