Meet Your Counselor – Mr. Dominique Bond
My name is Dominique Bond, and I am the school counselor for 6th and 7th grade students at Belair Middle School. I hold a master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Alabama and a School Counseling certification from Fort Valley State University.I am passionate about helping students develop the emotional and social skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Throughout the school year, I will provide short-term individual counseling, small group sessions, and classroom lessons focused on social-emotional learning (SEL).
Students may be referred by their parents/guardians, teachers, or the school principal. Additionally, students may request to speak with me at any time. My lessons and sessions will address important topics such as conflict resolution, bullying, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and stress management.
As the school counselor, I serve as an advocate and resource for students. My goal is to collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff to support the academic and personal development of every student.

Why Middle School Counselors?
Middle school students are characterized by rapid physical growth, curiosity about their world, and an emerging self-identity. Middle school counselors have an impact on these years by implementing a school counseling program and collaborating with school staff, parents, and the community to create a safe, respectful learning environment whereby young adolescents can maximize personal and academic achievement.
