Mrs. Volante McGee Henderson
Meet The Teacher
Hello, I am Mrs. Volante Henderson and I have another component to my new role from last year. While I am still a part of the Fantastic Fourth grade Dream Team as the Grade Level Chairperson, EIP Augmented Teacher for our 4th and 5th grade students, I am also the point of contact and facilitator lead for our school's multi-tiered system of supports or MTSS program.
The EIP or Early Intervention Program is designed to provide interventions for students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining their academic grade level based on their performance on state or national assessments or performance measures in ELA/Reading, Math or both, in order to help them meet grade-level expectations within the shortest possible time.
The Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS) is a system designed to help all children succeed by providing different levels of support based on student needs.
I've been a teacher here at A. Dorothy Hains Magnet school since 2019. My teaching experience consists of collegiate-level instruction, ESOL and more than 20 years of providing human resources training and instruction. My undergraduate education began at Lincoln University in PA. I completed my degree in Criminal Justice from Phoenix University. I also hold a Masters of Arts degree in Management and Leadership. When I'm not devoting my time to your children, I have also been serving as an Adjunct Instructor for SNHU since 2018.
I look forward to collaborating with anyone who wants to invest in our students' academic success (parents, guardians, communities and other educators). My platform continues to be that of equipping students to display excellent manners and conduct. Together we can instill good character, citizenship principles, social emotional awareness and great self-esteem in our young people. My main teaching philosophy is that you can learn something new every day!
I am also excited to be one of the co-chairs of our Student Council and Beta Club.
Don't hesitate to contact me through our school's front office at (706) 796-4918 for additional information and resources to aid your child at home or via email at hendevo@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us.
Here's to the best year ever.
