Dear Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am Ms. Barnes, and I am honored to be your child’s 3rd-grade teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. Each year is a fresh opportunity to learn, grow, and build something meaningful—and I’m excited to begin that journey with you and your child.

As an educator, I believe that every child deserves an equitable education that is rigorous, joyful, and empowering. My classroom is a place where students are not only challenged to meet high expectations but are also loved, respected, and celebrated for who they are. I believe in teaching the whole child; academically, emotionally, and socially, because true learning happens when students feel seen, safe, and supported.

In 3rd grade, students take a big leap academically and developmentally. They will build deeper comprehension skills, become more confident writers, master foundational math concepts, and prepare for the Georgia Milestones (GMAS). But beyond the test scores, I want my students to know that their voice matters, their dreams are valid, and their potential is limitless.

I lead with purpose, structure, and heart. My classroom is built on respect, responsibility, and resilience. I am firm yet fair, with a zero tolerance for disrespect, and a deep belief that children thrive when they know the standard is high and the support is strong.
