Ms. Georgia Alexander

Hello! My name is Georgia Alexander, and I am excited to share my passion for teaching and learning with my students and their families.

Background

I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, and I moved to the United States to pursue higher education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Temple University (2004–2008). After graduation, I proudly served in the U.S. Army, where I rose to the rank of Captain before retiring.

Now, I bring the same dedication, discipline, and perseverance from my military career into the classroom as a mathematics teacher.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that mathematics is a gateway to critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Every student can be successful in math when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to explore. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. My teaching blends structure and rigor with curiosity and discovery—because math is not only about procedures but also about understanding the “why” behind the numbers.

I also emphasize the connection between math, science, and real-world applications, so students see how these subjects shape the world around them and their future opportunities.

Personal Life

Outside of teaching, I am a proud mother of three wonderful daughters who inspire me every day. While I’m not married, family is central to who I am and keeps me grounded. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new scientific ideas, mentoring young people, and sharing my love of math and the sciences.
